This project involved the complete professional process of creating a plaster mold for slip casting. It began with producing a precise plaster master model on a banding wheel, which served as the positive form. Based on this master, I designed and fabricated a three-part plaster mold (negative), ensuring accurate alignment and functionality for casting.
The final stages included slip casting in porcelain, followed by finishing, glazing, and firing, resulting in a fully realized ceramic object. Throughout the project, I carried out every step of the process, from mold making to the final glazed piece.

The mug was crafted using the press-molding technique, with clay pressed into a plaster mold.

Idea:
Themold-cast bowl has been glazed in a way that mimics the splashes of red borscht, as if it had already been spilled. This design playfully challenges the usual concern of keeping the dish clean — the diner no longer needs to worry about making a mess, because the plate appears “stained” already. It blurs the line between accident and intention, turning the act of eating into a more relaxed and unpretentious experience.
